The Man Bun Fade – 9 Awesome Examples for 2019

The man bun fade, patronized by expert barbers and contemporary men, combines the dapper pre-2000s look of a sleek, tamed hair and the modern style of sharp and shaved sides for a stand-out finish.

Faded sides and back allow you to wear a bun without all the messy feels of hair touching your ears and nape. It offers a cool, neat look that can enhance your strong facial features and angles, plus the complete freedom to style your long top mane any way you prefer.

Give spirit into your basic bun by getting a fade that will definitely perk up your long hair game by giving it striking contrast and attention. Regular maintenance is essential if you want to keep it clean and stylish for a longer time. Some fades to consider: taper, skin/bald, burst and each of those can be high, mid or low. You’ll find plenty of examples below.

The photos below features the best man bun fade hairstyles you’ll find right now and is exactly what you need to add a serious masculine edge to your style!

How would you describe this look?

This look is trendy. It gives a kind of an edgy look. The greatest thing about it would have to be the taper. It makes the haircut pop.

Any advice for someone considering it?

The only advice I have is when you’re ready for this look, come see me. I’ll take care of you!

How would you describe this look?

This look is a braided man bun. The coolest thing about this look is the pattern I used to braid it. It adds a free-flowing feel to the overall look. You can dress up or down with this style.

Any advice for someone considering it?

For this look, the most important advice I can give to a client is to oil their scalp regularly and to wrap their hair up at night. Oiling the scalp will keep their hair growing while in this protective style. Wrapping the hair at night will preserve the style so they can wear it longer.

With a Bald Fade

With a Bald Fade

How would you describe this look?

This haircut is a simple medium bald fade with a bun. The fade is completely disconnected from the bun which makes it extremely simple to do. It’s the best of both worlds. A clean sharp fade and beard lineup with long messy hair on top.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This hairstyle is perfect for those wanting long hair but doesn’t want the hassle of having to style it all the time. It’s really low maintenance. Just throw it in a bun and go. If you are considering this look I would suggest growing the hair on top long enough to tie up before disconnecting from the side. This will prevent you from having to deal with a disconnected hairstyle until the hair is long enough to tie up. This style can also be worn with tapered neck and sideburns if you haven’t yet committed to a skin fade.
